Contramar Tuna Tostadas with Chipotle Mayonnaise
Tacolicious has quickly become one of our favorite spots for Mexican food in San Francisco. With so many amazing (and authentic) options across San Francisco, you might ask why this trendy (and some say overpriced) option is our go-to? The answer — their unique Tuna Tostadas. After doing a little research, we found the dish is actually an interpretation of the Tuna Tostada at famed Mexico City restaurant, Contramar. The chef behind Contramar shared her Tuna Tostada recipe here (as part of a great L.A. Times article on Mexico City’s up-and-coming chefs). We used this recipe and found it equally as delicious as the Tacolicious version. Next time, we’re keen to swap the sautéed leeks for crispy fried shallots for added crunch.
